Thodupuzha, June 19, 2026: Al Azhar Training College organized IGNIS 2026 – Candle Light Ceremony as a meaningful event marking the commencement of the second internship programme for the 2025–27 B.Ed. batch. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm and solemnity, reflecting the values and responsibilities of the teaching profession.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Noushad Kassim, Principal, Al Azhar Public School. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of dedication, responsibility, and professional ethics in the teaching profession. He encouraged the student teachers to make the most of their internship experience by developing practical teaching skills and nurturing a positive attitude towards learners.
The function was presided over by Dr. Jabimol C. Maitheen, Principal of Al Azhar Training College. She emphasized the significance of internship training in developing competent, confident, and compassionate educators.
Mr. Titus Mathew and Mr. Shajeermon V. M. offered felicitations and extended their best wishes to the student teachers. Ms. Christina Sebastian delivered the welcome address. A special feature of the programme was the Student Teacher’s Oath, which was administered by Ms. Albin Thomas. The student teachers solemnly took the pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the dignity, values, and responsibilities of the teaching profession. Ms. Shintu Thankachan proposed the vote of thanks.
The symbolic lighting of candles represented the transmission of knowledge, wisdom, and values from one generation of educators to the next. The ceremony inspired the student teachers to dedicate themselves to the noble mission of educating and empowering future generations.
